Stage 1 ECU Remapping in Sunderland, Newcastle and Durham

Stage 1 remapping adjusts supported ECU calibration within the limitations of standard vehicle hardware. Compatibility, software, vehicle condition and current faults are checked before tuning is accepted.

What a Stage 1 remap changes

A Stage 1 remap changes supported engine-control calibration while retaining standard vehicle hardware. The available calibration and sensible limits depend on the engine, ECU software, gearbox, vehicle condition and existing modifications.

No exact power, torque or fuel-economy improvement is guaranteed. Generic gain tables are not used because they cannot account for the individual vehicle or its software.

Vehicle health

Faults must not be hidden by tuning

A diagnostic scan and vehicle-health assessment may be required. Warning lights, stored faults or symptoms must be disclosed before work.

Engine and fuel system

Existing engine, turbocharger, fuelling, sensor, cooling or DPF problems should be diagnosed and repaired before remapping.

Clutch and gearbox

Manual clutch condition, gearbox type, transmission faults and the limits of standard hardware all affect suitability.

Previous modifications

Mechanical changes, previous tuning and current ECU software must be declared so the file and access route can be assessed correctly.

Reading, backup and stable power

The original ECU software should be backed up where supported. Stable power is required during reading and writing because interruption can leave an ECU non-responsive. Some ECUs support OBD access, while others require removal for bench or boot access.

Insurance, emissions and MOT

The vehicle owner is responsible for declaring relevant modifications to the insurer. Roadworthiness, emissions and MOT requirements continue to apply. Stage 1 remapping does not require illegal DPF, EGR or AdBlue removal, and ECU Logic UK does not advertise unlawful road-use emissions bypasses.
