TCU replacement and cloning
A TCU, transmission control module or gearbox control module can hold software, calibration, identity and adaptation-related data. When supported, cloning may transfer required information from the original into a compatible donor. It is one possible route, not a universal answer.
The same connector or similar casing does not prove that the hardware, software or internal data structure is compatible. Original and donor part numbers, software references and manufacturer supersessions are reviewed before work.

Module identification
Clear labels and complete vehicle details help establish whether the proposed donor is a realistic match before it is purchased or fitted.
Data transfer
A communicating original may offer a supported read route. A non-communicating or damaged unit requires individual assessment and may not contain recoverable data.
Coding and adaptation
Some replacements may need coding, variant configuration, adaptations, relearns or calibration with the vehicle present. Cloning does not remove every vehicle-side step.

Diagnosis before replacement
Transmission codes do not automatically prove internal TCU failure. Supply voltage, power, ground, wiring, network communication, sensors, actuators, fluid or mechanical gearbox faults can produce module-related symptoms. Diagnostic testing may be needed before a replacement route is accepted.
Final requirements, risks and responsibility for fitting and vehicle testing are confirmed before work begins.
